I spotted Buena Vista Social Club with Ry Cooder, an amazing recording of Cuban musicians playing traditionals, Dreamland by Madeleine Peyroux, who sounds freakishly like classic Billie Holiday, and sound tracks to the Departed, Hustle & Flow, Borat, and tons more. There are also many recordings for $7 in these categories: heavy metal, classical, punk, jazz, Christmas. In rock/pop alone there are almost 3,000 recordings.

Caveat: not eeeeeeverything is $7, but like 97% of it is.
